John from Westfield, WA says, “Purchased item with limited knowledge but have found vacuum cleaner to be excellent within its expected scope of work. This will not replace the big vacuum but it certainly is a major help. Well and truly worth the money spent.”

Kassandra from ST KILDA EAST, VIC says, “Good novelty value, however its very slow and does not pick up stuff well enough, perhaps not enough suction. Also I have to run around before it and smooth out its path for it, as it has difficulty going from one surface to another. It has never found its recharging unit so I have to always put it back myself. Lastly, it takes 4-5 hours to fully charge which is way too long and even then I'm not sure that its fully charged because the green indicator light still flashes.”

Paula from Kallangur, QLD says, “Our whole household has been very excited about the newest member of our family (and Optimus Shine must be part of the family - he has his own chores). I was quite dubious about how well it would work on the tiles on the ground floor of our house, but have been overjoyed to find that he does a great job of picking up cat hair (along with the mess under the table from my kids). We run it every day, over a fairly large area and now only have to worry about doing a big clean once a week. Hooray!!!”

Mark from Athelstone, SA says, “Our vac has only had about 10 uses so far so I can't yet comment on reliability but so far I'm delighted. The convenience factor is more than a skeptical view would consider - after all it DOES only take about 5 minutes to drag out a 'proper' vacuum cleaner to do a room. And it DOES take a minute or so to clean the robot vacuum. But when there is cooking or something else to be done, to push a button and come back to clean floors is great!”

nicole from Long Beach, NSW says, “I find it very noisy, and the vacuum system doesn't deal well with dog hair. The clear area at the back tends to clog so dog hair on a hardwood floor just keeps getting pushed around. The sensor doesn't work well with small drops , so I would only recommend for rooms with only one exit.”

Belinda from Petrie, QLD says, “I did not know what to expect from this vacuum when I bought it, but I thought, why not give it a go. Well, I am really please with how well it works on my lino floors. It is really good for in between cleans as an alternative to sweeping. It is no noisier than a regular vacuum, but I find I prefer to turn it on when I leave the house and when I come home it is finished and back on it's base recharging. A great product for those that hate cleaning floors, like me.”

Simon from Crows Nest, NSW says, “I'm fairly cynical and frankly I didn't really expect this to work. Well how surprised am I? I live in a small unit and I have programmed the cleaner to operate once a day while I'm at work. I'm very happy at how clean the floors are kept and readily recommend the cleaner to anyone looking to keep a small area clean”

Marg from FITZROY NORTH, VIC says, “I loved mine too at first ...
BUT now all it does is go backwards and picks up nothing, and I don't know how to fix it ...
Anyone have any clues?”

C from Belconnen, ACT says, “I was really looking forward to receiving this item after seeing a similar one on a TV series (the original iRobot) however after working wonderfully for one day it kept stopping the next after a couple of minutes of use... I returned it and got a new one but unfortunately for me, the second one is doing more or less the same thing (worked perfectly the first few times I used it and now only works on & off). I am going to try and return it for a refund.
Disappointed because I really wanted it to work (2 young kids and no time to vacuum). After reading all the reviews I believe I had the perfect floors - hardwood, no clutter and minimal furuniture but it made no difference.”

Spyda from Indooroopilly, QLD says, “Cool toy, but not really helpful, it does work, and stores more dust than you wouold expect but is not does not clean intelligently just uses a random pattern which misses alot. It also requires more work eg. Work best if you do just 1 room at a time but then you need to move it and shut doors all time. Also it has trouble finding the base station unless its within about 2-3m of it”

Ruth from Manunda, QLD says, “I love Herbie. He is a bit un-co, but gets the job done. The biggest negative is the instruction booklet - which is almost useless. There is no info on what the red light means. It doesn't matter, operation is self evident. Also the dust collectior uses a plasic clip, which I'm sure will break.”

Mike from Newman, WA says, “I have 3 chldren under 5 and 2 big dogs so sweeping the floor is a daily task in this house. I love this product I run it for a small amount of time a couple of times a day (after the kids have eaten) it seems to pick up most of the dirt off the tiled floor. It is so easy that I have got the kids into a routine that they eat lunch put their plates on the bench and hit go on the vaccum and away we go I no longer have to find the mess under the table.
The only problem I have found is that it doesnt deal with the dog hair that well it seems to just push it around a bit.”

Allan from Brighton East, VIC says, “This product is next to TOTALLY useless in most homes. About the only place it MIGHT sort of work is if you had a large room with NO obstacles of any kind. i.e. No chairs, no lounges, no furnitures of any kind, no awkward corners etc., etc.
Otherwise, if there are various obstacles in the room then it will simply (over time) go back over old ground time and time again, and completely misses some floor areas in it's contant reversing and forward movements as it approaches obstacles.
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.”

Trevor from East Victoria Park, WA says, “Great for us. We hate/avoid vacuuming so now the house is much, much cleaner. But wouldn't suit some very houseproud people. Does have weak vacuum but actually works more as a sweeper with some vacuum - and works great on hard floors and low pile rugs. Does get tangled in power cords & rugs with tassles or slightly curled ends - but you can use its electronic barrier thingy to keep it away from these areas. Does our dog's hair well - but this is short, course hair on hard floor/low pile rug, maybe not good with longer hair/deep pile. Misses little bits and needs a very quick touch up in corners etc with a small rechargeable vacuum - couple of minutes a time. Needs to be emptied each hour or two but extremely easy and clean to empty compared to a normal vacuum bag. You can almost forget vacuuming - just give the autolab a different room or area each day. Fantastic for couples like us.”

jenny and chris from AIRPORT WEST, VIC says, “This is a great product. I am recovering from a heart attack , so this cleaner is a great help for me, as I dont have to worry about struggling with hoses and cords. All I do is sit and watch, Everyone should have one of these.”

Caitlin from Chatswood, NSW says, “Though this works well on timber floors, unfortunately it does not cope at all well with rugs. All but one of my rooms has rugs, and it consistently gets stuck on the corners, edges, or in the case of the Persian rug, gets tangled in the threads at the end.
If you have bare timber floors I would recommend it, otherwise no - I cannot use it without taking my rugs off the floor first, or 'supervising' it to get it unstuck every 5 minutes.”

Peter from Valla, NSW says, “Some reviews say the cleaner stops working after a period of time. I have had two for over 12 months and if they start to play up I just clean them well, especially clearing hair and cotton around the brush ends and wheels. Then I blow them out with compressed air from a compressor. You can blow everywhere without fear of damage.”
