A tremendous machine, mini-computer with handwriting recognition. I can write fast and check the record later for any errors with a final edit. The GPS was always working but I didn't realise how to start it. Another review gave me some help so follow all those tips about where you live/personal info. plus English Australia. Then reset the software by pressing in the tiny button near the USB connection. Start Route 66 and if it says NO GPS, just tap on the map and click on the 'navigate to' icon. Select a point on the map and you will see Australia. Zoom in and you're away. Have fun and remember that this is a quality product and great value. A GPS could cost more than this alone and yet you've got a mini-computer with 'word/excell' etc... included.”

A few design niggles: the power button is on the lower left side which is a problem with accidental switching on and off when using the device, the stylus is telescopic - removing it from the holder is difficult at times. The GPS software is fiddly and very user unfriendly, I ended up deleting it and using TomTom. Overall I am satisfied with this item, and for the money it is a good buy!”

The real clincher is Route 66 is bundled worth $299USD. No regrets at all Pros Actual colour of silver is much darker Screen is bright and crisp. Wifi works flawlessly. Bluetooth also works flawlessly. GPS locks on quick to many satellites, thanks to the sirfIII chip. Runs pocket pc games, applications, smoothly. Included windscreen mount is amazing quality, worth well over $30. Lee from Duffy, ACT says, “This is a good GPS unit come PDA. It comes with absolutely everything you need it is a godo size and the software is almost as good as Tom Tom. Some negatives are you can actually see the battery draining when using the GPS on Battery. Luckily the unit comes with a power supply and a vehicle power supply so should not need to use it on battery power to often. The Route 66 software seems good. It has similar features to Tom Tom although missing some like stop navigation, speed display, and the address finding is more clunky. It has failed to find any address from my contacts even thought the addresses are in correct format. Screen resolution is a little chunky but no major problems. For the price this is an excellent unit.”
