6x Wolf Blass Red Label Reserve Tawny Port

Wolf Blass Wines, established in the Barossa Valley in 1966, has grown from a humble tin shed to become one of the world's most successful and awarded wineries. Wolf Blass Wines has won Australia's most coveted trophy, the Jimmy Watson, an unprecedented four times. There is a tradition of quality, character and consistency from the refined and elite Platinum Label and the majestic and complex Black Label through to delicate Rieslings and crisp Chardonnays. Today, Wolf Blass wines are exported to more than 50 countries and are recognised internationally as icons of modern winemaking.

Wolf Blass Red Label Reserve Tawny Port was fermented to around 6.5 degress baume. Brandy spirit was added to the wine to stop fermentation and retain residual sweetness. The wine received lengthy maturation in large, old oak barrels.This process does not give the wine oak characters but gives the wine mellowness and classic fortified characters.

Winemakers Comments

Colour - This richly flavoured Reserve Tawny is burnished amber in colour.

Nose - Complex aromas of dried orchard fruits with hints of maple meld with dried raisins.

Palate - This wine is rich and luscious with concentrated sweet fruit flavours filling the middle palate that flows onto a dry, mature brandy spirit finish.

Grape Variety - Wolf Blass Red Label Reserve Tawny is a blend of varieties suitable for fortified wine production including Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre.

Vintage Conditions - Wolf Blass Red Label Reserve Tawny is made from several vintages to ensure consistency with each release.

Maturation - Parcels of this wine were matured in large seasoned oak barrels.
