The LINDEMANS Premier Selection Shiraz Cabernet makes the most of LINDEMANS winemaking experience and extensive vineyard holdings across Australia. By sourcing fruit from a number of regions, LINDEMANS winemakers have been able to craft wines that are of outstanding quality with each and every vintage.

Vintage Conditions

Fruit for this wine was sourced from selected vineyards across South Eastern Australia. The 2010 vintage was characterised by some unusual weather conditions. Below average winter rainfall was followed by a relatively warm and dry spring, which ended with a cool and damp November and December, increasing sub-soil moisture. Warm summer conditions brought on an early vintage which was not dissimilar to 2009.

Maturation

Selected parcels of this wine were matured for six months with French and American oak.

Tasting Notes

Colour - Rich, ruby plum with crimson edges..

Nose - Initial aromas of blackberry and bramble fruit are supported by notes of spice and cedar.

Palate - On the palate this wine displays the pepper and liquorice flavours from the Shiraz component, which are perfectly matched to the savoury flavours that Cabernet Sauvignon provides. An elegant, medium bodied wine with soft tannins, juicy acidity and a lengthy finish.
