Rex Watson has a vision and passion to produce exceptional wine from the Coonawarra Region to be enjoyed at every occasion. The unique soils and cool climate of Coonawarra consistently produce some of Australia's best quality wines.

Vintage - 2005 was a very good vintage with warm dry conditions throughout the flowering and ripening period.

Winemaking - Small open vats were used to ferment the Merlot for 10 days with twice daily plunging. Maturation was carried out in new French Oak Hogsheads for 14 months before blending and bottling.

Colour - Attractive deep red in colour.

Bouquet - Youthful cherry fruit aromas with a hint of oak and chocolate aromas.

Palate - Textured and smooth in balance with sweet blueberry and blackberry nuances.

Suggested Food - Enjoy with braised lamb pie.

Cellaring - An outstanding wine made to drink young and fresh and will reward with careful cellaring for 3 years.
