Rex Watson has a vision and passion to produce exceptional wine from the Coonawarra Region to be enjoyed at every occasion. The unique soils and cool climate of Coonawarra consistenly produce some of Australia’s best quality wines.

Vintage:
2006 was a very good vintage with gentle, warm dry conditions throughout March and April providing very favourable fruit flavours with excellent natural acid & balance in the resulting wines.

Winemaking:
All varieties were picked separately at optimum flavour. Fermented in separate batches, stabilised and meticulously blended to give this unique style, retaining excellent fruit characters.

Colour:
Beautiful deep purple with red highlights.

Bouquet:
Lovely aromas of rich ripe plums and liqueur cherries with a hint of spicy chocolate.

Palate:
This wine is velvety smooth with ample mulberry fruit flavours and more of the liqueur cherry characters. Carefully managed maturation in French and American oak barrels has given the wine toasty vanilla and chocolate to compliment the fruit flavours. Fine, dusty tannins add structure the long finish.

Suggested Food:
Enjoy with veal or rich pasta dishes.
