12 x Grant Burge GB19 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2010

The 2010 vintage is proving exceptional for aromatic white varieties despite an early heatwave, as a cool change allowed for slow ripening of white varieties. The fruit for this wine was sourced from Barossa and Eden Valley, and is a blend of 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc

The Winemaking - The fruit was de-stemmed and the whole berries were gently pressed to reduce the amount of phenolics extracted and to
keep the delicate fruit flavours to the fore. Cool temperatures during fermentation followed, with a portion of the Semillon left on lees for a month to add texture to the palate.

Tasting Notes - The 2010 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is bright lemon in colour with youthful green hues. This wine is fresh and lively with
tropical fruits, guava, floral and herbaceous notes. This follows on to the palate, which is full of generous fruit flavours balanced by crisp acidity. The Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is designed for early drinking and is a perfect Summer wine, well suited to spicy Asian and seafood.
