Tasting notes:
With high quality Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grapes grown in the premium viticultural region of Central Ranges, New South Wales, Australia, Charles Strong has made a delightful, soft and complex red wine that is guaranteed to please.
Blend: Shiraz 55% / Cabernet Sauvignon 45%
Region: Central Ranges of NSW.
Colour - Deep purple red
Nose – Rich deep red fruits, berry, plum, cassis with hints of chocolate and tobacco.
Palate – Sweet, ripe, red berry fruit gives the palate brightness and intensity. Medium weight, with a soft, smooth, pleasant finish.
Vintage Conditions
A warm and dry ripening period was followed by perfect vintage conditions in late March and early April 2006. The grapes were harvested in ideal dry, sunny conditions.
Winemaking Notes
The grapes were gently crushed and placed in the red wine vinifiers. After 7 days, sufficient flavour and colour had developed, the must was pressed dry, and the young wine sent to oak maturation. The wine was matured for 18 months at low temperature, prior to bottling under screw cap to preserve freshness and flavour.
