DealsDirect.com.au proudly supports Vincentia Public School Kindergarten classes in 2007
DealsDirect.com.au were approached to assist in supplying some teddy bears for the orientation program run by Vincentia Public School Kindergarten. We were only too happy to help out!
This small donation in turn led to the idea of supporting Vincentia Public School Kindergarten classes in 2007. From time to time we will be publishing some drawings and paintings done by the children and some other projects throughout the year. In return we will be providing the children with goods to assist them in the classroom.
We hope you will enjoy this site and visit often, we look forward to regular updates from the school in 2007 and how the children are progressing.
At Vincentia Public School we like to make starting school a wonderful experience for the children.

Each year we have Kindergarten Orientation for those children who are due to start school the following year. The children come to school and visit the Kindergarten rooms. They meet the current Kindergarten Teachers and spend some time doing typical early Kindergarten activities such as singing, story time and craft. The teachers also talk to the children about things they can expect to see and do when they start school.
While starting school is an exciting time for many children some do find it a little daunting. It may be the first time they have spent the day away from their family or they might just find school a big, noisy place.
This year, with the support of DealsDirect, we are going to trial a new program that will help these children. At Kindergarten Orientation we are going to give each child a teddy bear. This teddy will be dressed in a school ribbon with the child’s name and “Vincentia Public School, Kindergarten 2007” on it. The children will be encouraged to show their school bear to their family and friends. This will help the child get used to the idea of starting school and it will help build their excitement as they share the experience with others.
We also hope to see the benefit of their school teddy bear when the children commence school in 2007. They will be able to bring their bear to school with them. This will help reduce any feelings of loneliness they may have and will be a comfort for any children who may be a little teary. Essentially it means the children can bring a friend to school with them each day. The school bear will also give the teachers a connection to the child and a built in conversation starter.
These bears will also make special keepsakes of the children’s first year at school.
We look forward to meeting next yearís children at Kindergarten Orientation and hope to see lots of happy faces when they receive their new little friends.
